Ethical Principles
The Society for the Advancement of Estonian Studies in Canada (SAESC) values democratic governance, civic courage and care, sustainability and prudence in using funds and resources, responsibility and accuracy, independence and avoiding conflicts of interest, honouring commitments and recognition of authorship of ideas, and tolerance. Integrity, equality, dignity, openness, solidarity, collaboration, diversity, reliability, benevolent partnership, mutual respect, and recognition are central values of the SAESC, which help us to contribute to the development of a safe, balanced, and caring society. In their daily activities, the SAESC is guided by the legislation of Canada. At the same time, the SAESC takes as its model the Estonian Code of Ethics for Nonprofit Organizations (https://heakodanik.ee/en/code-of-ethics/).
