The purposes of the Society are:
​
(a) To promote for the public benefit the advancement of educational and cultural activities in British Columbia, which have to do with the Estonian language, literature, history, and culture, as well as Canadian-Estonian (Ethnic) studies;
(b) To assist in the support and teaching in the study of Estonian language, literature, and culture at educational institutions (by means of stipends, donations and scholarships, for example);
(c) To acquire and make available for exhibit and study materials (such as books, papers, artifacts, etc) which illustrate the nature of or are related to Estonian language, literature, and culture;
(d) To conduct such fundraising activities as may be necessary and reasonable to carry out the above.

3. The purposes of the Society shall be carried out without purpose of gain for its members and any profits or other accretions to the Society shall be used for promoting its purposes.

4. In the event of winding up or dissolution of the Society, funds and assets of the Society remaining after the satisfaction of its debts and liabilities, shall be given or transferred to the Office of Awards and Financial Aid of the University of B.C. and/or Simon Fraser University or organizations promoting the same purposes of this Society, as may be determined by the members of the Society at the time of winding up or dissolution, and if effect cannot be given to the aforesaid provisions, then such funds shall be given to or transferred to some other organizations, provided however that any such organizations referred to in this paragraph if not a university shall be a registered charity recognized by the Department of National Revenue, Taxation, as qualified as such under the provisions of the Income Tax Act of Canada from time to time in effect.

Paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Constitution are unalterable in accordance with Section 22 of the Society Act. ​​​​​
